Why Palo Alto properties need a real network, not a patch
In an older Palo Alto home the walls themselves are the problem. Plaster applied over metal lath puts a fine steel mesh inside every wall, and that mesh reflects and absorbs WiFi in a way sheetrock never does. Moving the router does not solve it. What solves it is putting an access point on the far side of those walls and feeding it with cable. Eichlers fail differently: coverage travels fine through all that glass, but there is no attic, no crawlspace, and a radiant slab underfoot, so every cable route has to be planned deliberately through closets, soffits, or exterior conduit.
